Health Benefits of Sepia

October 28, 2017 by Len Carpio 4 Comments

What is Sepia? Sepia is a homeopathic remedy made from the ink of the cuttlefish. The cuttlefish is a soft-bodied mollusk with 8 arms, similar to octopus and squid. When the fish feels threatened, it squirts a dark ink called sepia that clouds the water – cuttlefish do this to hide itself. That dark ink is collected, allowed to dry, and mixed with milk (lactose) sugar to make it ingestible by humans.

Available Forms: pellets, tablets, or liquid form

Health Benefits of Sepia:

  • Sepia is an excellent medicine to use when a woman has stopped taking birth-control pills and begins to experience hormonal imbalances such as irregular menstrual cycle, tender breasts, and headaches.
  • Sepia can help women who have severe menstrual problems.
  • Sepia is one of the best natural remedy for women prone to chronic bladder infections.
  • Sepia is very effective in helping to reduce the symptoms of menopause, including hot flashes, irritability, depression, vaginal dryness, and low libido.
  • Sepia can help improve depression which is also a symptom of hormonal imbalance.
  • Sepia can help cure infertility.
  • Sepia is also recommended for women who had miscarriage.
  • Sepia is a natural energizer for women.
  • Sepia can help relieve breast cysts. Study shows that Sepia can help clear up this condition within 3 to 5 months.
  • Sepia is one of the natural treatments for genital warts and genital herpes.
  • Sepia appears to balance estrogen and progesterone and thus free up thyroid activity.
  • Sepia can help bedwetting in children when it occurs soon after falling asleep, and involuntary passing of urine on sneezing or coughing.
  • Sepia can also be used to treat backaches, indigestion and hair loss.

Note:

  • Before taking sepia for hot flashes, a homeopathic physician must be consulted first for proper administration and doses.
  • Many homeopathic remedies are not to be taken with beverages or other medicines so be sure to check the instructions.

Side Effects of Sepia: Homeopathic remedies don’t usually carry side-effects. However, if you’re finding yourself suffering headaches you should stop taking doses until the current dose has worn off.

Caution: Sepia should not be taken with bryonia or lachesis, as they may have adverse reactions. Some drinks and herbs (coffee and peppermint) may also counteract the effects of some homeopathic remedies.
